The DAS as an academic grade stands for „Diploma of Advanced Studies“. The Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) is a continuing education level. In Switzerland, a DAS reflects 30 ECTS credits, equaling minimum of 900 hours of student workload.
For students specializing in Occupational Medicine, the DAS Work+Health is recognized as a training provider for Occupational physicians by the Swiss Association of Occupational Medicine (SGARM). Thus, the DAS Work+Health provides the mandatory theoretical knowledge and parts of the practical skill required to apply for the FMH title in Occupational Medicine. For students specializing in Occupational Hygiene, the DAS Work+Health is acknowledged to achieve the title of occupational hygienist in Switzerland. Furthermore, the Swiss Occupational Hygiene Association SGAH/SSHT offers their own examination and accreditation. However, this would not be mandatory in Switzerland.
